Angeliki Kasioura is a biologist specialized in plant breeding and plant biodiversity. She graduated from the Department of Biology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed her postgraduate studies at the Agricultural University of Athens, with a thesis on the study of the biosynthetic pathway of anthocyanins in red-brown phenotypes of the plant Sideritis raeseri. In her undergraduate thesis, she investigated the development of heterophase cells in Arabidopsis thaliana. She gained practical experience through internships at leading research institutions such as ELGO-DIMITRA, and through the Erasmus+ programme in Fondazione Edmund in Italy and in Portuguese Plant Germplasm Bank (Portugal), where she focused on the conservation of plant genetic material and the study of plant metabolite biosynthetic pathways.
